Gerard Comamala is currently a PhD student in the protein analysis group at the University of Copenhagen. He is working on the development of new methods for the analysis of challenging proteins and biopharmaceuticals by HDX-MS. Gerard Has a B.sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona and a M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Copenhagen. Druing his masters' thesis Gerard specialized in the analysis of biopharmaceuticals by mass spectrometry.
- Analysis of the primary and higher-order structure of proteins by LC-MS/MS.
- Development of microfluidic devices functionalyzed with enzymes or molecules capable of removing post translational modifications such as disulfide bonds and glycosylation.
- Development of microfluidics devices capable of online lipid capture for analysis of membrane proteins
- Interfacing of these components in an LC-MS setup for for online, automated HDX-MS analysis.
