Design of parenteral sustained release drug delivery systems

Research in the development of depot injectables aims primarily at the design of innovative sustained release formulation principles feasible for localized/targeted as well as systemic drug delivery. Research activities relate to the use of prodrug design and salt formation to manipulate drug solubility in combination with conventional formulation principles to design parenteral depot formulations with current focus on in situ forming DDS intended for intra-articular as well as subcutaneous administration.
