Publication of new edition of textbook in Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry
The book Introduction to Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry is the fruit of a collaboration between Stig Pedersen-Bjergaard and Bente Gammelgaard from Department of Pharmacy and Trine Grønhaug Halvorsen from the University of Oslo.
It is written for students of pharmaceutical sciences with a focus on the pharmaceutical aspects of the analytical chemistry. Analysis of drug substances, pharmacetical ingredients and final pharmaceutical products aligned with the regulations of international pharmacopoeias is a central subject. A new chapter on analysis of biopharmaceuticals discusses identification, purity testing and assay of peptide and protein based formulations.
The book introduces the students to the analytical methods used in drug analysis, including sample preparation and separation techniques used in pharmaceutical sciences in the pharmnaceutical industry, hospital and forensic laboratories. The textbook is therefore well suited for chemistry and biochemistry students, aiming for the pharmaceutical industry, hospital laboratories, and forensic laboratories.
