Graduate School

As per 1 January 2020, Professor Jukka Rantanen (Manufacturing and Materials group) will take on new responsibilities to direct the Drug Research Academy.

The Drug Research Academy is the interdisciplinary graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences under the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences. It is managed jointly by the Department of Pharmacy and Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology.

“I am extremely excited by the opportunity to be the Director of this great research program", he says. "It must be considered as one of the best graduate research programs at UCPH. I will be looking to continue the strong development that the program has gone through over the years under Hans Bräuner-Osborne's leadership”.

Professor Rantanen Jukka is also looking forward to work with the DRA administration. “Since we have one of the best graduate research programs, we also have a fantastic administration to go along with it. I cannot wait to get on with the job and work with the DRA administration and the rest of the DRA Executive Committee”.

“I really think that DRA is a great “glue” for FARMA Campus”, he adds.

Professor Rantanen Jukka will replace Professor Hans Bräuner-Osborne, who has been appointed as Head of the Graduate School at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

Flemming Madsen (Head of Department of Pharmacy) and Helle S. Waagepetersen (Head of Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology) say in a joint statement: " We would like to use the opportunity to express our gratitude to Hans for the tireless and tremendous effort he has put into the continuous development of DRA. It is indeed a graduate research program to be proud of".
