Section for Biologics
In the Section for Biologics we focus on advanced formulation design and characterization of delivery systems. This is a prerequisite for converting biological molecules into medicine. We formulate, analyze and mechanistically explain effects on stability, biophysical drug characteristics and improved transport into and across biological barriers to target sites for these biologics.
Groups in this Section
-
Peptide and Protein Drug Delivery
Our research goal is to improve therapy with biopharmaceuticals by employing advanced formulation design, state-of-the art analytical methods and biorelevant models.
>>
-
Vaccine Design and Delivery
Focus is advanced drug delivery aiming at designing new vaccine and nucleic acid delivery systems to improve therapy.
>>
-
Protein Formulation and Biophysics
Rational formulation development requires a firm understanding of the physical interactions between protein structure/stability and the local surroundings. We use multiple advanced analytical techniques and theoretical models to achieve this goal.
>> -
Nanomedicines and Radiopharmaceuticals
The goal is to develop targetable drug delivery systems based on polymeric and lipid macromolecules and particulates. Radioactive labelling allows for quantitative investigations.
