Guest Researcher

As an Assistant Professor in the Protein Analysis Group, I will continue to develop structural mass spectrometry methods, especially hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) and cross-linking mass spectrometry (XL-MS), to investigate the in-solution conformational dynamics and structures of challenging protein systems.
The main biological focus of my research will be the interaction between peptide-antigen loaded major histocompatibility complex (pMCH) and the T-cell receptor (TCR). An interaction that is essential for the human immune system.

Primary fields of research

  • Analysis of the primary and higher-order structure of proteins by LC-MS/MS
  • Identification of protein-protein interaction sites
  • Higher-order structure elucidation of proteins by hydrogen/deuterium exchange followed by mass spectrometry (HDX-MS)
  • Epitope mapping of antibodies by HDX-MS
  • Higher-order structure elucidation of proteins by cross linking mass spectrometry (CX-MS)
  • Development of the HDX-MS and XL-MS methods
  • Upstream and downstream processing of therapeutic proteins.
